ELECTOR REGISTRATION:
Registration of all electors will take place at the time of voting. Electors will be required to make a declaration stating the following requirements are met:
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
- Canadian citizen;
- resident of BC for at least 6 months immediately preceding the day of registration;
- resident of OR registered owner of real property in the District of Mackenzie for at least 30 days immediately preceding the day of registration; and
- not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or otherwise disqualified by law.
Resident electors must produce 2 pieces of identification (at least one with a signature). Picture identification is not necessary. The identification must prove both residency and identity.
Non-resident property electors must produce 2 pieces of identification (at least one with a signature) to prove identity, proof that they are entitled to register in relation to the property, and, if there is more than one owner of the property, written consent from the majority of the property owners.
MAIL BALLOT VOTING:
All electors are eligible to vote by mail ballot. Electors can request a mail ballot during this time:

Before 4:00 pm on November 14, 2024 you must submit the following information to the District Office by:
- Mail: 1 Mackenzie Blvd, Bag 340, Mackenzie, BC, V0J2C0
- Fax: 250-997-5186 or
- Email: election@districtofmackenzie.ca
The following information must be provided when requesting a mail ballot package:
- Full name;
- Residential address;
- Address of the property in relation to which you are voting (for non-resident property electors);
- Method of delivery of your mail ballot package:
- Pick up at District Office, OR
- Regular letter mail through Canada Post to residential address, OR
- Regular letter mail through Canada Post to alternate address that you provide when requesting the ballot package,
- To ensure you receive the correct registration application form in your package, you must indicate whether you are going to be registering as a resident or non-resident property elector; and
- Electors will be required to provide two pieces of ID (one proving residency and one with a signature) to receive a mail ballot.
To be counted, your ballot must be received by the Chief Election Officer no later than 8:00 pm on Saturday November 16, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE
A person is qualified to be nominated, elected, and to hold office as a member of local government if they meet the following criteria:
- Canadian citizen;
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day, November 16, 2024;
- resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day nomination papers are filed; and
- not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election in British Columbia or being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law.
CAMPAIGN PERIOD EXPENSE LIMITS
In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2024 By-Election, the following expense limits for candidates during the campaign period apply:

In accordance with the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act, for the 2024 By-Election, the following third-party advertising limits apply:
